Vijayawada: Kanna, Sujana to tour today
Vijayawada: BJP leaders Kanna Lakshminarayana and MP Y Sujana Chowdary will visit Amaravati capital villages on Tuesday.
The BJP leaders will visit the flood-affected areas and also meet those who had donated their lands for the construction of capital Amaravati. Their visit assumes significance in the wake of the controversy over capital Amaravati.
Already MP Y Sujana Chowdary explained his perspective opposing the move to shift capital Amaravati. The former Union Minister extended support to the farmers of Amaravati capital villages.
Besides, the landowners of Amaravati capital villages met BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana two days ago. They explained their concerns to the BJP chief who had expressed his solidarity with them. The farmers and agriculture workers also met the BJP State president on Monday.
They requested him to visit the capital city location and see the progress of construction works. They said that the agriculture workers lost their livelihood during the past three months. The landowners expressed concern over the State government not paying lease amount to them.
They said that they sacrificed their lands for a great cause. Now the government wants to shift the capital city from Amaravati, they lamented.
It may be noted that BJP MP TG Venkatesh disclosed on Sunday that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was planning to establish four capitals in the State instead of capital Amaravati. Venkatesh also said that the Chief Minister had revealed his plans to the top BJP leadership in Delhi.
In this backdrop, now the BJP leaders Kanna Lakshminarayana and YV Sujana Chowdary have decided to visit Amaravati capital region. According to BJP sources, the party leadership at the Centre had refused to endorse the views of the Chief Minister with regard to the capital.
The State BJP leaders decided to undertake a visit to the capital region after securing the nod of their Central leaders.
