Vijayawada: KDC overall champion of ANU intercollegiate athletic tourney

Vijayawada: Krishnaveni Degree College (KDC) clinched the overall championship at the Acharya Nagarjuna University Inter-College Athletic Tournament 2019-20, said the college principal N Venkateswarlu on Saturday. He said that the Athletic Tournament was held from December 4 to 6 on the university premises.

He informed that KDC men category B Kishore Babu won gold medal in 10,000 meters running and in half-marathon silver medal. S Saikumar Reddy won gold medal in long jump. In 4x400 meters relay S Saikumar Reddy, B Svanagireddy, T Tejakarthik, G Sekhar won gold medal.

In women category, K Sujatha won gold medal in half-marathon, B Bharathi won gold medal in pole-vault, Sk Ayosha Parveen won silver medal in Javelin throw, P Yamuna won silver medal in Hammer throw, D Srilatha won silver medal in 400 meters hurdles, T Sirisha won silver in 1500 meters running, K Saidabi won silver medal in 10,000 meters running, P Swathi won silver in 5,000 meters, DV Sujatha won bronze in triple jump, N Mounika won bronze in 800 meters running, T Jhansi won bronze in 400 meters running, Y Harshita won bronze in 1500 meters running and in 4x400 meters relay N Mounika, K Saidabi, Y Harshita and Sk Jaanbi won bronze medals, said the principal.

He said that the college athletes won eight gold, eight silver and eight bronze medals and are the overall champions of the Acharya Nagarjuna University Inter-College Athletic Tournament 2019-20.

College Directors K Nasaraiah, K Veeraraghavalu, vice-principal MRK Satish Babu, Physical director E Aadibabu, M Tirumal Rao, Sivanarayana, M Suresh, faculty and others congratulated the players on their win.
