Vijayawada: Kuppam Prasad takes oath as Vysya Corporation chief
Vijayawada: Minister for BC welfare M Sankara Narayana said that he would request Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to allocate not less than Rs 100 crore to strengthen the Arya Vysya Welfare and Development Corporation. He was the chief guest at the oath taking ceremony of Kuppam Prasad as the chairman of the corporation held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Sankara Narayana said Arya Vysyas were well-known for social service activities and he would try to get more funds for the corporation. He recalled that former chief minister K Rosaiah was appointed as the finance minister in Y S Rajasekhar Reddy government. He appealed to the Vysyas to support the policies of the YSRCP government.
Kuppam Prasad said he would strive for the welfare of Arya Vysyas and fulfil the objectives of the corporation. He thanked the Chief Minister for nominating him as chairman. Endowments minister Vellampalli Srinivas requested the newly-appointed chairman Prasad to tour 13 districts to know the living conditions of Arya Vysyas. Ministers Balineni Srinivas Reddy, Audimulapu Suresh and others spoke on the occasion. MLAs K Veerabhadra Swamy, Anna Rambabu, Maddala Giri and others attended the programme.
