Vijayawada: Library employees to get salaries under 010 account
Vijayawada: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has agreed in principle to pay salaries to the staff of the libraries throughout the state under 010 account, said K Venkatrami Reddy, chairman of the AP Govt Employees Federation and A Vidyasagar, district president of the AP NGOs Association.
They were present at the elections conducted for the AP Libraries Employees Association here on Friday.
KallepalliMadhusudana Raju of Vijayawada was elected president of the state association by securing 152 votes while N Govinda Reddy of Kurnool secured 32 votes. Later, addressing the media, Venkatrami Reddy said that the chief minister instructed the secretariat staff to move the file to pay salaries to the staff of the libraries from 010 account.
NGOs leader Vidyasagar said that the health cards were issued to the staff of the libraries due to the efforts of the NGOs association. President-elect Madhusudana Raju thanked the employees for electing him. He assured them that he would strive to solve the problems of the employees. He appealed to the government to fill the 900 vacant posts in the libraries. He assured the employees that he would strive to get the Rs 270 crore library cess arrears to the libraries soon. He appealed to the government to modernise the libraries as per the population ratio.
NGOs leaders Md Iqbal and P Ramesh, district libraries association leaders K Devadas, K Jhansi, Sai Satyanrayana, A Prasad, and employees of all the 13 districts were present.
