Vijayawada: Mend roads in one Town, Vellampalli tells civic chief

Vijayawada: Endowments minister Vellampalli Srinivas and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh directed the officials concerned to address the problems being faced by the people of One Town.

The minister along with the VMC commissioner inspected RR Appa Rao road, Amma Hotel centre, Convent road, Gandhi park, Prakash market, Wynchipet Urdu School, Nizam gate, Rotary Nagar, Kabela road, outflow drain near Chanumolu Venkat Rao bridge which joins Budameru and other areas of the West constituency. Srinivas told the commissioner that the roads which were dug for underground drainage works in the area were causing severe inconvenience to the vehicle drivers.

The commissioner ordered the officials to complete the underground drainage works as soon as possible and told the engineering department officials to prepare an estimate for laying CC roads. He also asked them to prepare walking track and gym at Gandhi park.

Later, they inspected the outflow drainage at Nizam gate and told the officials concerned to take appropriate measures for the free flow of drainage water as it is rainy season. The commissioner gave a few suggestions to the officials to expand the drainage at Kabela road outflow drainage which links to Budameru and see that rain water does not stagnate at the colonies nearby.

Chief medical officer Dr K Arjuna Rao, EE K Koteswara Rao and others were present.
