Vijayawada: Minister Velampali Srinivas assures help to Nayeebrahmins

Vijayawada: The Nayeebrahmin community in the state has contributed to some extent for the victory of YSR Congress in elections, said Minister for Endowments Velampali Srinivas.

He said that the State government was supporting the community by providing financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to each barber shop across the State.

The Minister was the chief guest at the fourth anniversary celebrations of Nayebrahmin Nanda Yuvasena organised at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram here on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, he recalled that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had assured support to Nayeebrahmins and kept his promise. Praising the Nayeebrahmin community for their unity, the minister said that Brahmins and Nayebrahmins play a key role in temples.

Nanda Yuvasena founder-president Inturi Babji Nanda said there were about 20 lakh Nayeebrahmins across the State who still struggling to get desired respect among people. He recalled that opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu had insulted them in public. He said that they are yet to receive a few welfare schemes sanctioned to them.

YSRCP East constituency in-charge Devineni Avinash, Suryanarayana Nanda, Sai Kumar Nanda, N Nagaraju Nanda, Harish Nanda, Chenna Rao and others were present on the occasion.
