Vijayawada: Music lovers enjoy Annamacharya keerthans

Vijayawada: Mummineni Subba Rao Siddhartha Kala Peetham organised a devotional concert of veteran singers of Annamacharya project artistes G Balakrishna Prasad and R Bullemma at the Siddhartha Auditorium here on Sunday evening.

Balakrishna Prasad and Bullemma rendered the keerthanas composed by Annamacharya, Bhadradri Ramadas and Tarigonda Vengamamba. The contribution of Balakrishna Prasad in the promotion of Annamacharya keerthans are well known to all the music lovers and public will eagerly wait for the opportunity to listen his songs.

About twenty keerthans were presented by the artistes and rendered the keerthanas like 'Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha', 'Saranu saranu' ,'Vinudide', 'Jaya Jaya Nrusimbha', 'Emani Pogadudune', 'Jagadapu chanuvula jajara', 'Tiruveedhula', 'Saranu saranu' 'Muddugare yasodha', 'Tiru tiru javarala titti thy', ' chudaramma', 'adigo bhadradri' and the concert was concluded with Annamacharya kriti 'Ksherabdhi kanyakaku'.

The audience thoroughly enjoyed the concert and each keerthana received claps from them. The concert was supported by Shankar on violin, Pandu on tabla and Kishore on verity instruments.

The artistes were felicitated by P Lakshman Rao, president of Kalapeetham and the programme was coordinated by T Ramesh. K Manmadha Rao welcomed the artistes and audience.
