Vijayawada: One person with coronavirus symptoms admitted to Government General Hospital
Vijayawada: One person was admitted to the Government General Hospital in Vijayawada with the suspected symptoms of coronavirus on Wednesday. But, the doctors have not confirmed it.
The 45-year-old person recently came from Germany and is suspected to be affected by coronavirus. The government hospital doctors have collected blood samples and would send them to the Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad for the lab tests. He was kept in isolation ward and the doctors started the treatment.
This is the first suspected case in Vijayawada city. District Collector Md Imtiaz conducted a review meeting with officials on coronavirus. Later, speaking to media, the Collector said there were no symptoms of coronavirus to the admitted patient at the GGH.
He said the 17 isolation wards have been set up in Krishna district with 69 beds. Imtiaz said the people can get protection from coronavirus with frequent washing of hands, staying away from heavy crowd, wearing masks and taking other precautions. He said the coronavirus is spread with sneezing and dry cough.
He suggested to the people to immediately visit the government hospital if they notice symptoms of fever, dry cough and breathing problems. He said a control room has been set up in the district with phone number 94910 58 200 and appealed to the people to get help from the control room.
He further said screening tests were conducted at the Gannavaram Airport for the arriving passengers. Joint Collector-2 K Mohan Kumar, DM &HO TSR Murthy and others were present at the press conference.
