Vijayawada: 'Drushya Vedika', an audience club organised a socio-mythology play "Raavana Maranam Tarvata" on Sunday evening at Veledandla Hanumantharaya Grandhalayam Hall on the occasion of its February month programme.

After 'Yuddha kanda', Vibheeshana was made the King of Lanka by Lord Sri Rama and let to Ayodhya. But what happened in Lanka was not mentioned anywhere in the ancient scriptures or epics. Eminent director and artiste SK Misro has elaborated on this subject and written a play titled "Raavana Maranam Tarvata".

The play was sketched basing on the social and political situations prevailing in those days in Lanka. Most of the public are not in favour of Vibheeshana as their king as they were staunch followers of Ravana. The jury of the court imposed death sentence to Vibheeshana. Though the situation is not written by Valmiki in Ramayana, audience felt as if this was happened and keenly observed the play. Though the theme of the play was not fully convincing with the talent of director SK Misro it was made as excellent production. All the actors did well with their rich experience.

The cast including the writer director Misro, the other roles performed by N Goureeshwara Rao (Vibheeshana), MK Nagabhushana Rao (Ravana), P Sivaprasad (Siva), K Sambasiva Rao (Gnanabhadasura), K Srinivas (Mounavratha), KVBH Baburao (Nagesudu), BA Naidu (Nyayadhipati), Adinarayana (Senapathi), TVS Kameswara Rao (vyakhyata), Muralighara, Narayana Rao and Venkatrao received appreciation from the public.
