Vijayawada: Sale of essentials from 6 am to 9 am
Vijayawada: District collector A Md Imtiaz announced here on Monday that the people could purchase essential commodities from 6 am to 9 am throughout the district every day. Referring to the lockdown till March 31, he said that action would be taken if the order was violated.
Addressing the newspersons, the collector said that as far as the Vijayawada city is concerned, the permission was given only between 6 am to 9 am to purchase commodities in Rythu Bazaars. ATM vehicles would be allowed between 5 am to 9 am. The takeaways would be allowed in restaurants and hotels between 7 am to 7 pm. The shutdown would be completely and strictly implemented between 7 pm to 6 am and no vehicle would be allowed to ply on roads.
The vehicles for the emergency services, media, BSNL and other communication systems, and essential commodities transport would be allowed.
He said that all the cloth shops, sweets and bakery, ice cream shops, iron and painting shops, automobile, electronics and electrical shops, wholesale shops would remain closed till March 31. Appealing to the people to strictly adhere to the rules, he warned of stringent action in case of violations. He reminded people that already 35 cases were booked against people for violations.
The collector said that the Swarajya Maidan was shifted to Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation stadium, Patamata Rythu Bazar was shifted to Patamata high school and Kedareswarapet Rythu Bazaar to Gandhiji Municipal High School in order to keep them in spacious places.
