Vijayawada: SC Commission member K Ramulu pulls up officials

Vijayawada: National SC Commission member K Ramulu expressed ire on the officials for not providing basic amenities for the community hall built at a cost of Rs 1.45 crore in SC Colony in Machavaram on Tuesday.

He along with other officials made a visit to the colony and noticed that the community hall has no water, power supply and drainage facility. He reacted angrily and demanded explanation from the officials as to why basic facilities were not provided in the community hall. "Who is responsible, the officials or the contractor," he questioned.

Ramulu instructed the officials to add the contractor's name in the black list. He enquired about the utilization funds in SC colonies sanctioned by State and Central governments under the SC Sub-plan. He directed the municipal officials to clean the backside of the community hall as the colony residents are suffering due to stagnation of drain water. Earlier, Ramulu visited Anjaneya Swamy temple in Machavaram and offered prayers.
