Vijayawada: School development works to be completed by July

Vijayawada: Joint Collector (Development) L Sivasankar instructed the officials to take photographs and videos of the schools before commencing the works under Naadu-Nedu programme to compare with the photos and videos after the work was completed.

He addressed the officials of the Education Department on Naadu-Nedu programme here on Tuesday.

The Joint Collector said that the photos and videos should be uploaded in the website. Recalling the instructions of the government, he said that the Naadu-Nedu works should be completed by July 30 just before the reopening of the schools. However, the works which were entrusted to the Panchayat Raj, DWAMA and APEWDC should be completed by July 15.

Stating that sand and cement would be supplied by the government, the Joint Collector said that material like steel, gravel, bricks, doors, windows and others would be procured by the headmaster and the mandal educational officer if the officials fixed the prices for them.

He said that the details of the agencies which would supply the material for the fixed prices would be made available to them.

The Joint Collector instructed the Panchayat Raj SE Prakash Naidu to enquire the prices of granite and marble in Ongole. Likewise, DEO Rajyalakshmi and Sarva Siksha Abhiyaan PD Ravindra Babu were instructed to enquire about the price of teak timber for the doors and windows. Syntex water tanks could be used for all the schools, he said.

He instructed the officials to take the help of the Forest Department for landscaping playgrounds in schools. CMO Narasimhulu was also present at the meeting.
