Vijayawada: Security at SEC office beefed up

Vijayawada: The security of the Station Election Commissioner's office situated on the Mahatma Gandhi Road here has been fortified with the personnel of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

A posse of the CRPF personnel, including an SI, a head constable and eight constables was posted at the SEC office on Thursday.

It may be recalled that the Union Home Ministry received a letter purportedly written by the Station Election Commissioner N Ramesh Kumar seeking Central police protection for him.

It may be inferred that the Union Home Ministry took it seriously and posted the additional force from the 39th Battalion of the CRPF situated at Gannavaram.
