Vijayawada: Thousands take holy dip at Hamsala Deevi beach
Vijayawada: Thousands of devotees took bath at the Hamsala Deevi beach where the Krishna river meets sea and other small beaches in Krishna district on Sunday to mark the Karthika Masam, which is very auspicious to Hindus. A large number of devotees took the holy bath in the sea.
The Krishna district police arranged heavy bandobust near the HamsalaDeevi beach and other small beaches to prevent any untoward incident. Taking selfies became a craze not only among the teen but also among the adults and enough though there is risk of drowning, devotees are risking for a perfect selfie in the beaches.
Krishna district superintendent of police M Ravindranath Babu has instructed the police to be on high alert at the beaches in mandals of Nagayalanka, Koduru, Machilipatnam and Kruttivennu. Police conducted counselling to the youth and arranged the life jackets. Children and adults joyfully went to the beaches and had a holy bath on Sunday.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the devotees stopped visiting the temples when there is heavy rush during the important festivals. Daring the Covid 19 threat, many devotees joyfully visited the beaches and had a holy bath.
