Update: 2019-11-19 01:50 IST

Vijayawada: Administrative process related to implementation of Amma Vodi scheme will begin soon after uploading of the child data by the Headmasters of the schools in the State by Tuesday evening.

The State government prescribed norms for implementation of Amma Vodi scheme under which mothers will get Rs 15,000 financial assistance for sending their children to the schools. The HMs will have to complete the uploading work of child info by 5 pm on November 19. Later, education and other departments will start the verification process to select the beneficiaries. Village volunteers, village and ward education assistants will help the education department to finalise the list within one month. So far, more than 90 percent work related to uploading child info has been completed.

The Education Department has to follow a very lengthy process of uploading the information and verification of data related to children and mothers. The info consists of white ration cards, bank accounts, number of children, income and other details.

The government will deposit Rs 15,000 into the bank accounts of the mothers next year under Amma Vodi scheme.

After completion of the administrative process (verification), the HMs of the schools concerned will forward the updated data to the welfare and education assistants in the respective municipal wards and villages. After detailed verification, the list of eligible mothers will be put on display at the Village/Ward Secretariats from November 25 to 27.

With deadline for uploading child info set for November 19, HMs of several schools were very busy on Monday to complete the task by Tuesday evening (5 pm). But, the HMs encountered problems in finishing the work due to failure of servers.

Due to heavy load, the servers were down several times during the entire day - Monday morning to evening. Many poor and illiterate parents did not produce Aadhaar cards of their children and bank account numbers till Monday. This also delayed the process of uploading the information.

Field verification of data by village/ward volunteers will be completed by December 1, 2019 and again the data would be handed over to the HMs for final online entry by December 5, 2019, said an official supervising the online process. Again, the list of beneficiaries will be put on display at Village/Ward Secretariats and online portal for social audit on December 9. The final list will be approved in Grama Sabhas between December 15 and 18. After clearing the list, District Collectors will give their nod for depositing Rs 15,000 into the accounts of mothers on December 24.
