Villagers attack excise officers in Macherla Mandal of Guntur district

In a shocking incident, the villagers attacked the Excise Officers in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh. The event took place on Tuesday in Hassanabad Thanda of Macherla Mandal in Guntur district. According to the details revealed by Vijayapuri South SI Paul Ravinder, the excise department has attacked on the sites of illegal production of Natusara in Hasnabad Tanda and seized 20 litres of Natusara. Along with this, excise enforcement officials also seized 7,000 litres of jaggery in the same village last month.

In this backdrop, the police are keeping a close watch on Hasnabad Tanda. The villagers, who were outraged that the police had targeted the village, had unexpectedly attacked the excise officers. Up to 100 villagers gathered and attacked the police.

However, about 15 of the villagers were hit by rocks, Macharla excise CI Konda Reddy and his staff members injured and the car glasses were destroyed. Upon receiving the information, Vijayapuri SI arrived in the village and inspected the site.
