Visakhapatnam: 2-day safety workshop concludes
Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board and HPCL, Visakhapatnam, jointly organised a 2-day Safety Workshop for Regulatory Authorities on December 28 and 29. This workshop comprised of technical sessions on the first day and field visit to HPCL on the second day.
The purpose of the workshop was to refresh and enrich the knowledge of regulatory authorities on various topics related to industrial safety.
T Rajendra Reddy, JCEE, Ravindranath, SEE, APPCB, Zonal Office, Visakhapatnam, B V Ram Prakash, DFO, Fire Services Department, G Ganeshwara Rao, Assistant Director, Dock Safety from regulatory authorities were present during the inaugural session. Senior officials from HPCL R Ramakrishnan, CGM (I/C), Operations, M Somasundar, CGM, Technical (M) and A T Naidu, GM (I/C), Technical, from Visakh Refinery and S K Dandapat, DGM from New White Oil Terminal were present.
About 35 participants attended the workshop in which presentations on safety in storage facilities, Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Safety audit etc were discussed. The participants visited HPCL facilities and got acquainted with the safety systems.
