Visakhapatnam: A platter of nutritious food for students

Visakhapatnam: Students studying at government schools in Gajuwaka, Parawada and Sabbavaram mandals will now savour hot and nutritious breakfast for a period two-and-a-half years.

Tying up with The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Gland Pharma Limited has come forward to provide breakfast to close to 3,500 schoolchildren studying in 37 government schools in the three mandals. As a part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, the pharmaceutical company has come forward to cater to the breakfast needs of the children.

The breakfast programme was launched at MPP School, RH Colony, Appikonda on Wednesday. YSRC district general secretary Tippala Devan Reddy, president of The Akshaya Patra Foundation Niskinchana Bhaktadasa and plant head of the Gland Pharma, VSEZ P. Lakshmi Narayana, among others were present at the launch.
