Visakhapatnam: ABVP seeks alms as a part of protest
Visakhapatnam: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) city secretary L Rajaiah said the government failed to release the students fee reimbursement and scholarship arrears.
Staging a unique protest here on Wednesday against the State government, the ABVP members sought alms at Telugu Talli flyover and cleaned the vehicles. Speaking on the occasion, Rajaiah said, "The academic year will soon end but arrears are yet to be released.
District convener of the ABVP I.Bhanu Murthy said the welfare schemes launched by former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy were unsuccessfully implemented by his son and the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He alleged that the CM who came to the power with the support of students is now neglecting them and playing with their lives.
The ABVP demanded immediate release of scholarships and warned that they would intensify the agitation across the state. ABVP leaders Leela Shankar, Harsha and Dinesh participated in the protest.
