Visakhapatnam: All set for Andhra University Alumni Meet
Visakhapatnam: Andhra University Vice-Chancellor P V G D Prasad Reddy here on Thursday stated that all arrangements were made for Andhra University Alumni Meet 'Waves 2019' to be held on Friday.
Briefing media over the Waves 2019 at AU Senate Hall here on Thursday, the VC said that Tech-Mahindra CEO C P Gurnani will be take part as special guest at the alumni meet. Further, the VC said that founder-chairman of AU Alumni Association Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao was extending financial assistance to some of the new facilities for the students.
He said over 4,000 sformer students registered for the upcoming event. The VC said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would participate as chief guest in the Alumni meet. The VC said the varsity got the permission to increase the seats in AU College of Engineering and added a proposal was forwarded to Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in this regard through MP V Vijaya Sai Reddy.
He said that it would enable hundreds of students to pursue engineering streams on the campus. President of alumni association, B Satyanarayana said that the old students were the brand ambassadors of AU. Association's secretary B Mohan Venkat, joint secretary Kumar Raju and dean of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication P Bobby Vardhan participated.
