APATA members giving away rice bags to trolley operators at airport in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday

Visakhapatnam: The airport advisory board along with Andhra Pradesh Air Travellers' Association (APATA) president Kumar Raja and members D S Varma and O Naresh Kumar met the airport director M Raja Kishore and discussed about the current situation at the airport and various screening measures that are in place at the premises.

The Airport Director informed the APATA members that there were five flights landed in Vizag and five took off to various destinations, including Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, and Bengaluru.

The members of APATA also met chief security officer Venugopal. Keeping the rainy season in view, the APATA members requested Raja Kishore to ready the front canopy for which the latter assured to ready it by mid-June.

Later, APATA members also requested for Covid testing in airport be expedited so that ICMR-approved labs also are permitted to do the testing so that those with negative results get exempted from being quarantined.

Later, they distributed 25 kg of rice and essential commodity kit consisting oil, sugar, tur dal, salt and spice powder were distributed to 22 trolley operators as their livelihood was hit due to the lockdown.
