Visakhapatnam: City-based contractor bags Visveswaraya Award

Visakhapatnam: City-based electrical contractor Y Narayana Rao bagged Mokshagundam Visveswaraya Best Engineering National Award for his distinguished contribution to the development of nation and for achieving outstanding excellence in the field of electrical engineering and contracting.

The award was presented to Narayana Rao, managing director of Sri Annapurna Electrical Projects by the International Institute for Social and Economic Reforms (IISER), Bengaluru. He was honoured with the award in recognition for his excellence in business coupled with his spirit of service for the mankind and for the development of society and for contributing to the rural development and poverty alleviation by providing educational and medical facilities, employment assistance to the needy.

President of IISER Shivappa and secretary G S Desai host the annual special awarding ceremony to recognise and honour the engineering pioneers who not only excel in their business but also dedicate themselves to service and welfare of their society. The award was presented by the guests of honour in a befitting ceremony held in Bengaluru.
