Visakhapatnam: Dande Renewal Energy to set up lithium rechargeable scooters unit

Visakhapatnam: Vizag-based M/s Dande Renewable Energy Pvt Limited, at APIIC Green Park, Gambeeram, will set up a new electric scooter assembling unit at Duvvada. The company is manufacturing and assembling electric two wheelers, using lithium ion batteries of their own make Dande.

It has submitted a letter of intent to the Development Commissioner, for allotment of built up space inside the VSEZ. According to VSEZ Zonal Development Commissioner A R M Reddy the developer D V Siddardha had handed over an application for allotment of ample space for starting their unit. As per the company management, the scooters will be branded as "Dandi es Motors'' will come up with battery range of 60 V, 12 Ah, the most economical one, can run up to 80-100 km and charging time is 3 hours.

Cost range could be between INR 49000 to Rs 88,000. Reddy said with the setting up of the unit in VSEZ, the company would be able to supply the scooters to SEZ units itself in AP & TS as there are more than 472 functional units which would prefer to use these pollution-free and noise-free cheap and energy efficient scooters, and the company will be able to enjoy the benefit of deemed exports and will be eligible for all duty draw backs. Company is expected to start this FY to avail the benefits of IT for the next 15 years.
