Visakhapatnam: Development came to a halt under YSRCP rule said Manohar

Visakhapatnam: Jana Sena Party Political Affairs Committee chairman Nadendla Manohar alleged that the YSRCP's three-capital move has been aimed at making land deals to do real estate business in Visakhapatnam and terrorise the people living in the City of Destiny peacefully.

Briefing the media here on Wednesday, he said having won with a massive mandate in the elections, people were under the impression that YSRCP would provide good governance.

"But, people not only find the administration peculiar but also the governance intimidating. After YSRCP coming to power, development came to a grinding halt in the State. In nine months period, the government only gave a new coat of paint to village offices and 'reversed' the projects.

The YSRCP government failed to seek funds from the Union government for the development of the State," Manohar pointed out, adding that the State government is promoting 'faction politics.'

While the people of Visakhapatnam seek employment opportunities and development in tourism and IT sectors, Manohar said, the government was coming up with 'strange' announcements, creating a sense of insecurity among denizens. "The State's revenue has fallen and investors are now scared to invest in the State ever since the YSRCP came to the power," he lamented.

In the guise of distribution of house sites, Manohar alleged that land was being taken away from the poor.

In Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts, the JSP leader pointed out that people continue to suffer from lack of medical facilities. He said the situation was even worse for the patients living in Agency area.

Speaking about the local body elections, Manohar said it was an opportunity for the people to teach a befitting lesson to the YSRCP by exercising their franchise wisely.

He mentioned that the present government is committing the same mistakes as the previous government.

Manohar informed that JSP will contest with BJP in future and also fight together on public issues. He exuded confidence that the JSP would form the State government in 2024.

He mentioned that JSP would clarify people on their alliance with the BJP and added that the party was moving towards building a strong leadership across all constituencies.

JSP general secretaries T Sivasankar and Bolisetty Sathya, JSP Political Affairs Committee member Kona Tatarao, among others participated in the conference.
