Visakhapatnam: Dry ration given away to migrant workers
Visakhapatnam: Former BJP state president K Haribabu, Symbiosys Technologies O Naresh Kumar and managing director of Jyothi Group Kasi Viswanath Raju distributed dry ration, a pack of dates, water bottles and glucose to the migrant workers who set out on their journey to their hometowns here on Monday.
Earlier, Naresh Kumar and Kasi Viswanath Raju provided milk, vegetables to the needy ever since the first lockdown was announced. The duo also gave away 100 tube lights, 80 ceiling fans and medicines worth Rs 1 lakh to the Central prison.
This apart, they have also distributed 3,500 masks 200 PPE kits to King George Hospital, Government Hospital for Chest and Communicable Diseases, LV Prasad Eye Hospital and VIMS.
The donors also contributed generously to a massive #FeedtheNeedy programme, reaching out to six zones of GVMC staff and food shelters and six Assembly Constituencies, providing 18,000 food packets each day for three weeks.
The donors reached out to the victims helped those affected due to the gas leak at LG Polymers by supplying 8,910 food packets, 5,420 buttermilk packets, 800 glucose packets, among a plenty of others. For migrant workers, they distributed 1,000 kgs of rice, 400 kgs of jaggery, 100 kgs of dal, etc.
