Visakhapatnam: East Coast Railway sets up help desk for coronavirus

Visakhapatnam: With coronavirus cases rising across the country, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has set up control rooms and telephone helplines at railway stations.

As part of preventive measures, awareness programmes and rallies were being organised by the railway employees.

The railway medical wing and respective Divisional Railway Managers of the three divisions under ECoR jurisdiction are considering various preventive measures across the zone.

Massive awareness campaigns launched at railway stations here on Saturday in this regard. Blankets and curtains were removed from AC coaches as an extra precautionary measure. Railway hospitals are provided with isolation beds.

Arrangements are being made to facilitate beds for quarantine in the railway premises with the support of the district and state administration.
