Visakhapatnam: Ex-minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao condemns friend's arrest

Visakhapatnam: TDP activist Nalanda Kishore was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department police on Tuesday for forwarding anti-government post on social media. He is one of the friends of former TDP Minister and Visakhapatnam North MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao. Kishore was arrested for forwarding the content linked with a Minister and an MP.

Responding to Kishore's arrest, Ganta Srinivasa Rao demanded the government to explain why his friend Nalanda Kishore has been taken to Vijayawada.

Ganta said that an inquiry can be conducted even in Visakhapatnam but expressed concern over taking Kishore to Vijayawada unnecessarily.

"The government can target me on political grounds instead of 'framing' my friends and people close to me, booking cases against them. I am ready to face any case against me. I know how to deal with it. I never behaved in a cheap manner," he emphasised.

Further Ganta cautioned the government to take action against those who had created the 'malicious' content against the MP and the Minister rather than merely against those who forwarded the message on the social media.
