Visakhapatnam: Ex-Minister Ganta's entry into YSRCP a distant dream
Visakhapatnam: After a long hiatus, former Minister and TDP Visakhapatnam North constituency MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao held a meeting with the party cadre.
It was quite a while that Ganta took active part in any of the TDP's activities in recent past. But his presence in the meeting with the party cadre raised many eyebrows.
Ever since the YSRCP came to power, the debate over Ganta's joining the ruling party has been doing the rounds. Despite the revised 'muhurtams' for his grand entry into the YSRCP, it is said that rising 'differences' between Ganta and Tourism Minister M Srinivasa Rao appear to be one of the challenges that is literally stopping him from teaming up with the ruling party.
With the North constituency MLA's continued absence even in Assembly sessions, many were under the impression that his entry into the YSRCP is for sure. It is the same reason, sources opine, even the TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu denied entrusting any additional responsibility to Ganta, including the portfolio of the Parliamentary constituency in-charge.
While the talk about his shifting loyalty to YSRCP continues to grow louder, some of his lands at Simhachalam were recovered by the government in November.
Meanwhile, his recent meeting with the TDP cadre and Visakhapatnam Parliamentary constituency in-charge Palla Srinivasa Rao was related to formation of ward committee members. He urged the party members to strive hard to strengthen the TDP.
With this new development, political parties now assume that Ganta's entry into the YSRCP's fold has been put on hold for now.
