Visakhapatnam: The formation day of the YSR Congress Party, which has been gaining from strength to strength ever since it was formed on March 12, 2012 by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, was celebrated all over the State with the resolve to work for uplift of all sections of society.

Speaking at a meeting organised at Visakhapatnam to mark the occasion on Thursday, YSRCP MP V Vijayasai Reddy said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has weathered many a storm let lose by the Congress and the TDP which had colluded against him and he won the hearts of the people.

Jagan Mohan Reddy had gained knowledge about the problems of the people in the State by conducting Praja Sankalpa Yatra covering 3,648 km, interacting with over two crore people and finally formulating a plan of action called Nava Ratnas which helped him catapult into the Chief Minister's post.

Vijayasai Reddy said, despite financial constraints, the Chief Minister was able to implement 90 per cent of the promises he made by implementing welfare schemes like Amma Vodi, Rythu Bharosa and many more covering all sections of the people over the past nine months. With an aim to develop all regions of the State, he has taken a decision to have three capital cities.

With the victory of 151 legislators, Jagan Mohan Reddy has transformed the YSRCP into a formidable force in the State, said the MP.

It was unfortunate that TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu, who has become a byword for corruption and unethical values, was unleashing unrest in the State by sending his party leaders Buddha Venkanna and Bonda Uma to Macherla in Guntur district with the ulterior motive of creating a disturbance to law and order ahead of the local body elections, the MP said and added that the defeat was imminent for the TDP in the GVMC elections.

Talking about local body elections, he said the mayoral candidate will be announced after the elections. The first list of the selected candidates has already been released and the remaining candidates will be announced on Thursday night, Vijaya Sai Reddy informed.

He further added that the TDP sitting MLAs who want to join the YSRCP should get approval from the party chief.

Speaking on the occasion, Tourism Minister M Srinivasa Rao said the underprivileged sections would remain backward if Jagan Mohan Reddy did not come to power.

VMRDA Chairman Dronamraj Srinivasa Rao, Gajuwaka MLA Tippala Nagireddy, YSRC leaders Dadi Veerabhadra Rao and S.A. Rahman, among others hoisted party flag as a mark of the YSRCP Formation Day celebrations.
