Visakhapatnam: Fill up ST backlog posts, AU officials told
Visakhapatnam: Chairman of Committee on Welfare of Schedule Tribes T Balaraju hailed Andhra University (AU) for providing justice to ST candidates.
Visiting Andhra University here on Tuesday, he paid homage to the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar at the university.
Later, he held a meeting with AU Vice-Chancellor P V G D Prasad Reddy and other department heads and examined the reservation policy being implemented in the university.
Balaraju also verified recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff. He said that there's a need to fill backlogs with immediate effect. He suggested that the reservation for the Adivasis be implemented.
Speaking about the fake certificates, he cautioned that legal action should be taken against those who produce fake certificates to get jobs.
AU V-C said reservations would be implemented in every posting. MLAs and committee members K Bhagya Lakshmi and Chetti Phalguna along with others participated in the meeting.
