Visakhapatnam: HSL delivers six vessels this calendar year
Visakhapatnam: In connection with completing the six 10 Ton Bollard Pull Tugs for the Indian Navy, Ananta (Yard 11178) and Atal (Yard 11180), built at Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), were flagged off to their home port at Mumbai and Kochi respectively on Wednesday.
The 190th and 191st vessels being delivered by HSL were set off to their home port on their maiden voyage in the presence of Rear Admiral L.V. Sarat Babu, NM, IN (Retd), Chairman and Managing Director (HSL), senior officials of Navy, Classification Society, senior officials of HSL and PEW.
The yard has so far delivered six vessels this calendar year. These tugs are capable of developing 10 Ton Bollard Pull and can achieve speed up to 12 knots. During their trials, both tugs have proved good sea keeping characteristics.
With the delivery of these two tugs, HSL has completed all legacy projects and proceeding further in execution of the newly concluded projects on hand with commitment to meet delivery timelines.
Speaking on this occasion, the HSL's CMD expressed deep gratitude to the Navy, IRS and PEW for closely partnering with one another and completing the project successfully. The Chairman specially appreciated the commitment of the employees of HSL on this remarkable achievement.
