Visakhapatnam: The walls of interiors mirror the aesthetic beauty of heritage and culture. Be it the whimsical scarecrow that winks with its tongue sticking out or some of the book collection stacked neatly on shelves or Etikoppaka toys arranged on the racks, the newly done-up lounge at the reception of Palm Beach hotel reflects the pristine charm of the state's art and craft.

Inspired by Andhra Pradesh heritage and culture that has a touch of Greek art as well, 'Kuteerams', an extended heritage wing of Palm Beach, will soon be made available for tourists.

Announcing this at a press conference held here on Thursday, general manager of hotel Sandeep Reddy said the idea was to bring in diverse flavours of the state through art and craft. After a year-long extensive research, Sandeep Reddy added that the cottages, to be launched on December 2, reflect a fusion of contemporary and traditional elements of rich heritage and culture of Andhra Pradesh.

Elaborating that the new facility offers a whiff of fresh air, vice-president of corporate affairs, Bajaj Hotels Private Ltd Mitali Bajaj said, "With 10 single-bedroom cottages getting readied at the premises, 'kuteeram' is a product customised for travellers who prefer to go beyond cookie-cutter rooms and look forward to a new experience during their stay here."

Interior designer Ameet Mirpuri said that 80 local artists were given a platform to showcase their skills on a larger canvas as part of the new endevaour.
