Visakhapatnam: Consumers return home with empty bags from 13 Rythu Bazaars as signboards with 'there is no supply of onions today' greet them in the city.

Despite the information about 'no' onion supply in Rythu Bazaars was announced by the marketing department officials on Saturday, thousands of people turned up in Rythu Bazaars since morning to collect the precious commodity, the price of which touched Rs 170 a kg in retail outlets on Sunday.

Estate Officers at Rythu Bazaars had a tough time in convincing the crowd that arrived at the venue for the indispensable kitchen commodity where it is abundantly used by many.
