Visakhapatnam: Raids conducted on unauthorised e-ticket booking offices

Visakhapatnam: Railway Protection Force (RPF), Visakhapatnam special team, conducted a raid on tours and travels offices in the city on Tuesday.

Based on reliable information, RPF Inspectors P Srinivsa Rao and R K Rao along with the team conducted searches and seized e-tickets worth Rs.14.83 lakh. Meanwhile, RPF detected illegal software named 'ANMS' which was used to hack the IRCTC e-ticket portal to generate 'Tatkal' railway tickets in a faster way.

The RPF personnel found 582 railway e-tickets during a raid at SP tours and travels office and seized e-tickets worth Rs.11.31 lakh. The proprietor of the tours and travel Samir Kumar Pradhan was arrested and produced before the court.

RPF personnel also identified that Samir Kumar was using 95 fake identity proofs to book the e-tickets online. Two laptops and a few mobile phones were also seized from the accused.

In another search conducted at Thatichetlapalem, 129 e-tickets worth Rs.3.52 lakh were seized. Offenders were arrested and produced before the railway court, Visakhapatnam.
