Visakhapatnam: Rich tributes paid to Babasaheb Ambedkar
Visakhapatnam: Rich tributes were paid to the architect of the Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar on his 63rd death anniversary observed by educational institutions and organisations across the district.
Paying tributes to Babasaheb, Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao said that Ambedkar dedicated his life for social equality. The Minister was accompanied by District Collector V Vinay Chand, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Jaya Prakash in garlanding the statue of the Ambedkar at LIC Junction.
Meanwhile, members of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust SC, ST Officers Welfare Association observed the day by paying tributes to the late leader. VPT Chairman K Rama Mohan Rao garlanded the statue of Ambedkar on the occasion. VPT HoDs and officers were also present.
Rich tributes were paid to Babasaheb by the employees of APEPDCL at the corporate office. Joint managing director, Vigilance APTRANSCO K Venkateswara Rao, APSEB SC and ST Employees Welfare Association general secretary Ch Saibabu, State Electricity BC Employees Welfare Association president Polaki Srinivasa Rao and CGRF Chairperson D Dharma Rao recalled the services of Babasaheb. Some educational institutions also offered floral tributes to Babasaheh on the occasion.
