Visakhapatnam Sainik School celebrated Armed Forces Flag Day

Visakhapatnam: Sainik School, Korukonda celebrated the 'Armed Forces Flag Day' with great enthusiasm recently. The school conducted a series of activities to commemorate the occasion.

An essay writing competition for Class IX students was conducted on Swachhta Mission. Later, during the NCC training, cadets, staff and officers took the Swachhta pledge to not only keep the surroundings clean but also to involve others in the mission. Principal Colonel A M Kulkarni and Wing Commander C S Bhanuprakash, graced the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Officer Commanding highlighted the importance of Armed Forces Flag Day. He also stressed on imbibing values. Later, cadets of Class VIII took part in the clean-up drive. They also went to Sri Kasturba Social Welfare Hostel for girls situated about a kilometre away from school to inform the need to keep the surroundings clean and the significance of Armed Forces Flag Day and distributed the motivational posters of Armed Forces to the students of the hostel.
