Visakhapatnam: Students showcase spirit of innovation
Visakhapatnam: Participation in education and science fairs will help students develop scientific temper and think innovatively, said tourism minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao.
Speaking after inaugurating the science exhibition of the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE)-MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge) in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, the minister lauded the efforts of the students at the SFS School in bringing out various projects. He said talent and innovation would shape children into future scientists and students should dream big.
The state government was according top priority to health and education, the minister said while adding that schemes like Amma Vodi and Naadu-Nedu were being implemented to promote literacy rate to make the state compete with Kerala in the field. He exhorted people to make better use of the schemes for the bright future of their children. Linking the development of society with literacy, VMRDA chairman Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao said the government was making all efforts for the development of education. Further, he stated that required facilities were being provided at schools.
Of the 5,200 students' projects, 318 have been selected at district-level. As many as 318 students from Visakhapatnam and 74 students from Vizianagaram took part in the Science fair at the SFS School. The three-day INSPIRE-MANAK fair is open for the students at SFS school till February 7. Of the projects exhibited, 40 will be selected for state level exhibition to be held in Kadapa from February 11, according to education department officials.
