Visakhapatnam: Tourism Minister M Srinivasa Rao visits Kamparapalem
Visakhapatnam: Tourism Minister M Srinivasa Rao said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy exhibited his humanity by reaching out to the LG Polymers victims.
Visiting Kamparapalem, one of the gas leak affected villages at LG Polymers, the Minister said the Chief Minister has not only given compensation to those who were impacted due to the gas leak but also instilled confidence in them.
The incident seemed to have become a curse on the huge development witnessed by Visakhapatnam, he reiterated. "For the government, the affected people are more important than the company. The removal of harmful and dangerous companies will start with LG Polymers in Vizag. The Chief Minister took immediate steps to shift all the styrene monomer inventory away from the plant only for the cause of the people. Those behind the gas leak incident, however big they are, will have to face the axe," he informed.
The Minister said a permanent hospital will be built at gas leak area. He criticised the TDP and other Opposition parties for indulging in mudslinging.
Later, the Tourism Minister visited Mangamaripeta beach and interacted with the fishermen.
