Visakhapatnam: Various organisations, departments observe Vigilance Awareness Week
Visakhapatnam: As a part of the 'Vigilance Awareness Week 2019', Visakhapatnam Port Trust and Dredging Corporation India (DCI) conducted various programmes on Wednesday.
A walk on the beach road to spread awareness against corruption among the general public was flagged off by Deputy Chairman of VPT P L Haranadh, DCI Chairman and Managing Director Rajesh Tripathi, Commissioner of Police R K Meena, Joint Collector L Shiva Shankar, among others.
About 300 students from the Port High School took part in the logo formation of the Central Vigilance Commission. A flash mob was organised on the occasion followed by a signature campaign. This apart, an integrity pledge was administered to the participants. IT Department observes the day in schools
Focussing on the theme of the year 'Integrity a way of life', Income Tax Department conducted Vigilance Awareness programme at Visakha Valley School, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Alwardas Public School and KDPM High School among others. An integrity pledge was administered to the students and teachers. Addressing the students, the officials laid emphasis on the need for probity and Integrity in day-to-day life for personality development at individual level and development of society at large. Income Tax officers K Lalith Kumar, M Naveen Kumar and S Srikanth, among others attended.
Likewise, ACB Additional SP Sheik Shakeela Bhanu exhorted employees to discharge their duties honestly without giving any room for corruption at a vigilance awareness programme held at Zilla Parishad meeting hall. The official was speaking at training classes organised for government employees of various departments as a part of the vigilance awareness week.
