Visakhapatnam: Youth exhorted to contribute to hometown, society
Visakhapatnam: Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu underlined the need to set aside a portion of the income for the development of the society.
Addressing a virtual meeting featured by the Young Presidents' Organisation (YPO) Greater Chapter here on Friday, the Vice-President said business sector plays a greater role in the development of the society. Venkaiah laid emphasis on four aspects such as character, calibre, capacity and conduct that one should possess in the chosen field.
Youth should act as agents of change and work towards making every domain free of caste, criminality and cash. The Vice-President noted that several Indians are making a mark in the chosen field across the world. But he said that the country never showcased its dominance over the other nation.
Speaking about education, Venkaiah said education is important for every individual and also laid emphasis on studying the society to serve it better. In the present competitive scenario, the Vice-President stressed on gaining grip over English language and at the same time, he also said it should not be at the cost of forgetting one's native language.
He exhorted the young leaders to contribute to one's hometown and society despite the positions they hold. As a part of the contribution, the Vice-President said a trust under the banner Swarna Bharath Trust was initiated along with his friends.
