Visakhapatnam: Youth recently returned from Birmingham

Visakhapatnam: A 24-year-old man with a travel history to Birmingham and a resident of Venkatapuram, Padmanabham mandal, Bheemunipatnam, has been tested positive for coronavirus. According to the health officials, he returned from Birmingham on March 16 and reached Visakhapatnam via New Delhi on March 17.

The officials concerned said, the 24-year-old was asymptomatic but developed fever on March 20 and got admitted to the Government Hospital for Chest and Communicable Diseases on March 21. He was reportedly tested positive on Sunday. Test results of 19 more cases are awaited.

Officials confirm that the condition of patient was said to be stable at the hospital and was responding well to the treatment.

After the 65-year-old-man and his wife, this is the third corona positive case in Visakhapatnam.

Meanwhile, Tourism Minister visited the primary health centre at Padmnabham mandal, Revidi village and instructed the staff that the coronavirus suspects should be sent to the isolated wards.

Later, the Minister also checked the facilities available at VIMS hospital and instructed the staff to make note of any inconvenience, if any, at the premises for the coronavirus suspects.
