Visakhapatnam: Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Botcha Satyanarayna exuded confidence that the YSRC will clean sweep in the ensuing local body elections as it did in the general elections in 2019.

Speaking to media here on Thursday, Botcha said that the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was keen to maintain peace in the state and will not compromise on it at any point of time.

Responding to the alleged attacks against the TDP leaders including Buddha Venkanna and Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao at Macherla in Guntur district, Botcha said the TDP leaders' car had initially hit some of the locals and hence they were being attacked in return.

If the YSRCP is not allowing the TDP candidates to file nominations, he asked how come they are filing so many papers from across the state?

Botcha asked what did the TDP do to the people of state to make them vote for the party.

He pointed out that when TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was in power, the MLAs from the other parties were 'bought like cattle'. "Naidu is indulging in 'blackmail' politics. People are aware of his cheap politics and hence they would reject the party in the local body elections as well," the Minister mentioned, adding that the TDP is sure to get completely wiped out in the state.

Speaking about the recent incident in Anantapur, the Minister said more cases were filed against the YSRCP leaders than against TDP leaders.

Speaking about the Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, Botcha said, "Since JSP chief is basically an actor, he views democracy in a different angle altogether. Apparently, whatever Naidu says, Pawan Kalyan will only parrot it."

The Minister later took part in the YSRC anniversary celebrations held in the city.
