Vishnu Devalaya Charitra book launched

Vijayawada: Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja China Jeeyar Swamy launched a book, 'Andhra Maha Vishnu Devalaya Charitra' written by Dr E Shivanagi Reddy, archaeologist and CEO, Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravathi at his Ashram on Thursday.

Dr Reddy said that China Jeeyar was very keen on knowing the mythological and historical aspects of the temple along with its art, architecture, inscriptions and daily rituals conducted.

The book encapsulates information on Srikakulam in Telugu, sculptures, subsidiary shrines, Sri Krishnadevaraya Mahotstavalu and 52 inscriptions engraved on the walls and pillars of the temple. The Chinna Jeeyar desired that the temple shall be included on the holy 108 Divya Tirupati temple circuit.
