Vizag Bar Association polls peaceful

Visakhapatnam: The polling for Visakhapatnam Bar Association was completed peacefully on Thursday. Due to various reasons, the polling was started afternoon in which 2,064 practicing advocates against 2,859 valid voters cast their vote.

Over 37 advocates are in fray for various posts. Senior advocates B V R Murthy and G M Reddy competing for president post while A Kondababu, DVSN Raju and Y Venugopal are contesting for secretary post. Six booths arranged for polling, four booths for seniors and two for junior advocates.

Over 6,000 advocates enrolled their names in the association. However, 2,859 only are eligible to cast their vote in the association. According to the association rules, the advocates have come to courts regularly and should renew their names every month to get their right of vote.
