Amaravati: Uttarandhra Charcha Vedika convener Konathala Ramakrishna said that the allocations for Uttarandhra projects in AP Budget 2019 were very disappointing.
Speaking to media on Wednesday, Konathala said there is the need to provide Rs 24,000 crore for Uttarandhra water projects. He said at least Rs 2,000 crore should have been given this year.
He said only Rs 650 crore was allocated for Uttarandhra projects in this budget. He said the people of Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts are facing severe water shortage.
If the Uttarandhra projects are not completed, then these two cities will become like another Chennai, Konathala said.
