Vizianagaram: 5-member robbery gang held, booty worth 10.5 Lakh recovered
Vizianagaram: The police on Saturday arrested a five-member gang involved in five robbery cases and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth of Rs 10.5 lakh from their possession.
Speaking to media here, SP B Rajakumari said that the accused have been identified as M Sanyasi Raju, P Lokesh, D Balaraju , B Kiran and A Venkat of Rayagada in Odisha. They committed robberies in Parvathipuram area and robbed gold and silver ornaments from locked houses. Several cases were pending against them in Parvathipuram and Kurupam police stations, she said. The police caught them when they were trying to sell the ornaments in market, the SP said and added 200 grams of gold and 3 kgs of silver ornaments worth Rs.10.5 lakh was recovered from the gang.
