Vizianagaram: APSRTC to suspend all services today

Vizianagaram: North East Coast (NEC) region of APSRTC is preparing to participate in Janata Curfew to be held on Sunday. The NEC has instructed its operational staff to not to attend duties and be in their homes and make Janata Curfew a grand success.

The NEC region is comprising Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. Srikakulam has 424 busses and Vizianagaram has 368 busses. Speaking to media, RTC Regional Manager P Appalaraju said no bus will be moved out from depot on Sunday and all the interstate services which run towards Chattisgarh and Odisha were going to be stopped from tonight. He appealed to public to maintain social distance and stop spreading of coronavirus.

On the other side, the passengers have cancelled their journeys from Saturday onwards. The busses heading towards Vizag, Srikakulam and Parvathipuram reported thin occupancy ratio which indicates that people are ready to participate in Janata Curfew. The RTC bus stand wears deserted look as few commuters are arriving for travelling. The cinema theatres in the district are also closed. But kirana shops and petrol bunks are opened.

The well-known Pydithalli temple in the city will be closed till March 31. The temple management stated that daily poojas will be offered to goddess by the temple authorities but devotees will not be permitted to have darshan.

On the otherhand, Joint Collector K Krishna Kishore stated all Rythu Bazars also will be closed on Sunday. No consumer should come out to buy vegetables here. All the farmers are informed not to come to Rythu Bazars with their vegetables. District administration appealed to public not to come out of their homes and participate in Janata curfew.
