Vizianagaram: CPI against three capitals plan says K Ramakrishna

Vizianagaram: Both the Centre and State governments are totally confusing the people of Andhra Pradesh and shirking their responsibilities towards the people of the state, alleged CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna.

Participating in the party district committee meeting here on Friday, Ramakrishna said that the Union government was betraying the people of the state and neglecting its progress and prosperity by not releasing funds to the state.

Stating that the Centre was yet to release Rs 18,900 crore to state, he said the financial position of nation was drastically come down during the NDA regime and economic growth was confined to 3.4 percent only. He said the rumours about Kia Motors was planning to shift its manufacturing facility from Anantapur to Tamil Nadu badly affected government led by chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohhan Reddy.

At least now, the government should hold consultations with investors and industrialists in the state get to their confidence, he pointed out. Alleging the previous TDP government failed to get funds from the Centre and spent five years by misusing the funds, he said unfortunately the present YSRCP government was also working in favour of the BJP and not in a position to demand its share of funds from the Centre.

He also said that CPI was against three capitals proposal of YSRCP government for equal-area development. We will support for Amaravati capital only, he made it clear.

"Our party has passed a resolution in 1953 to make Vijayavada as capital for Andhra Pradesh. We won't skip from those decisions," he recalled. B Ashok, Jelli Wilson and others have participated in the programme.
