Vizianagaram: Don't believe rumours on social media
Vizianagaram: District Collector M Harijawaharal on Monday stated that there is no need to panic on the coronavirus threat and appealed to people not to believe rumours appear on social media platforms.
Addressing the district level officers at the Collectorate, he said by taking some precautionary measures, the spread of disease could be prevented effectively.
He said the district medical and health department was fully prepared to face any emergency like situation and isolation ward was also set up in Maharaja hospital to provide better treatment to those affected with such symptoms.
Personal hygiene and taking precautionary methods were utmost important to prevent the spread of the virus from one person to other, he pointed out.
If anyone was affected with Covid-19, he said they have to be isolated from others and avoid meeting others. Only the senior citizens, who have less immunity, will have some risk but the others need not worry over it, he stated.
Dr K Jayasri, nodal officer on Covid-19, said that district hospital has all facilities to treat the patients and all should avoid shaking hands and maintain distance from others.rumorsrumors
