Vizianagaram: Mini jetty to come up in Chintapalli village
Pusapatirega (Vizianagaram): Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Administration Botcha Satyanarayana said that the government will spend Rs 500 crore for the welfare of fishermen community in the state.
Participating in a programme at Pusapatirega, he said the government was supporting every fisherman by giving Rs 10,000 each during fishing holiday. Stating that the earlier financial aid was Rs 4,000 so far, Botcha said the YSRCP government has hiked it to Rs.10,000 and 2,645 fishermen, who are depending upon 477 motorboats would be supported by the move and around Rs 2.65 crore would be spent for the programme.
He said that Matsyakara Bharosa and all motorboats would be supplied 300 litres of diesel at subsidised price and if any fisherman lost his life during sailing, his family would get Rs 10 lakh.
Later Botcha said that a mini jetty would be constructed in Chintapalli village of Pusapatirega mandal to help the fishermen. Nellimarla MLA B Appala Naidu said the coastal areas would be developed as tourism spots and appealed the firms here to give 75 per cent of jobs for locals. He also appealed to firms not to discharge chemical waste into sea. Collector M Harijawaharlal said that the government was spending huge amount of money for the welfare of fishermen and asked them to avail government schemes to come up in life.
